Studies in Canada: Procedures Eased for Young Moroccan Applicants
Launched in 2018, this expedited study permit processing program has been extended to include students from Morocco and Senegal. Its processing time does not exceed three weeks.
Applicants from China, India, Vietnam, the Philippines and Pakistan already benefit from the SDS program. It seeks to encourage young international students and especially those from Asia to study in Canada.
“Canada’s diverse, welcoming society, high-quality educational institutions and opportunities to work or immigrate after graduation have made Canada a leading destination of choice for students from around the world,” said Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Ahmed Hussen.
“By expanding the Student Direct Stream to a more diverse range of prospective students, we’re enhancing the tremendous cultural, social and economic benefits that international students provide”, added the minister in a statement.
In 2018, more than 720,000 international students studied in Canada.
