Morocco detains Algerian wanted in his country for criminal activities
Morocco law enforcement forces have nabbed an Algerian national wanted by Algerian security services over his connection with criminal activities and networks.
The man, 47, was arrested in Oujda, eastern Morocco, Morocco World News website reported Thursday.
Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said that the suspect was wanted for his suspected links to a criminal network active in drug and psychotropic tablets trafficking, the media noted.
The man who is in custody for further investigation faces extradition following a demand by Algerian authorities.
The DGSN has identified the man as part of an international criminal network that forged documents and passports.
The network was busted in Oujda in 2018 after Moroccan authorities arrested four Algerian nationals who had obtained counterfeit Moroccan identity documents, the media recalled.
