Morocco and Madagascar agreed on Tuesday to bolster their cooperation in education, scientific research, gender equality, urban planning, housing, decentralization, training, health…

These agreements were inked during the first meeting of the two countries’ joint committee convened in Marrakech under the co-chairmanship of minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita and his Malagasy peer, Andriantsitohaina Franck Michel Niaina.

A twinning and cooperation agreement was also signed between the Rabat University Hospital Center of Ibn Sina and the Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona University Hospital of Antananarivo.

The two countries agreed to exchange youth groups, enhance their cultural cooperation and facilitate the access of Malagasy students and teaching staff to sports training institutes in Morocco.

Speaking on this occasion, Moroccan foreign minister said the holding of the 1st meeting of the joint cooperation committee puts into action the decisions taken during the visit paid by King Mohammed VI to Madagascar, in November 2016.

For his part, Ravoahangy Andrianavalona stressed the importance of the meeting of this joint committee, which shows the momentum of cooperation between the two countries following the historic royal visit to this African country.
