The Mohammed VI Investment Fund (FM6I) has published its first impact report, covering the 2025 financial year, the fund said in a statement. Local media described the report as an important step in accounting for its contribution to the kingdom’s economic and social development.
The fund, whose creation was announced by King Mohammed VI in July 2020 and which became operational since the end of 2022, describes itself as a catalyst for productive investment. The report follows Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and presents the results of its first year of investment.
With initial capital of MAD 15 billion, the fund works on three principles: double return, additionality and a multiplier effect. It invests directly, through private equity and venture capital funds, and with instruments such as subordinated debt.
By the end of 2025, it had committed MAD 7.2 billion of equity, helped finance 52 companies and supported more than 15,000 jobs. Its interventions covered the six priority sectors of its mandate and all regions. Private equity activity mobilized MAD 19 billion of capital, of which MAD 14.4 billion came from third-party investors.
The report also stresses environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues, in line with the UN Principles for Responsible Investment, which the fund signed on the sidelines of COP28 in 2023.
