Mauritanian Finance Minister Codioro Moussa N’Guénore received an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by the Fund’s Regional Adviser on Government Finance Statistics, Francis Gahizi, on Thursday evening.
The meeting focused on cooperation between the government and the IMF, particularly efforts to modernize the collection and verification of financial data relating to public enterprises.
The two sides reviewed progress made so far and the key results achieved in strengthening mechanisms for gathering reliable public finance information. Mr N’Guénore underscored the government’s commitment to modernising public finance statistics and improving the quality and reliability of financial information.
He also called for stronger coordination among institutions and stakeholders involved in collecting, processing and managing public financial data.
