Morocco, Mauritania launch roadmap to bolster cooperation in road & port infrastructure
Morocco’s Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, and his Mauritanian peer, Mohamed Aly Ould Sidi Mohamed, launched at a meeting held, in Rabat on Tuesday, a roadmap for strengthening bilateral cooperation in infrastructure and ports.
The meeting examined the means to launch structuring projects which will have a positive impact in Mauritania, in particular the transport network between Nouakchott and Nouadhibou.
It also focused on carrying out a technical study relating to the Nouakchott-Nouadhibou road, laying the foundations of a strong partnership between the two countries in public works, as well as participation in the construction of a number of engineering structures in Nouakchott to streamline traffic in the Mauritanian capital, the Mauritanian official told the media at the end of the meeting, that is also part of preparations for the Moroccan-Mauritanian High Joint Commission,
The meeting was an opportunity to highlight the brotherly relations between the two countries and the importance to further consolidate them, through the exchange of technical expertise and the expansion of the partnership between the Moroccan Public Laboratory for Tests and Studies (LPEE) and the Mauritanian National Laboratory for Public Works (LNTP).
These talks are meant to further strengthen friendly relations and boost economic cooperation between the two countries, Baraka told the media, pointing out that this meeting was an opportunity to launch a roadmap for strengthening bilateral cooperation in infrastructure and ports.
