Moroccans emerged as the largest group among foreign workers in Spain, with 422,347 now registered with the Spanish Social Security system, according to official data.
The figure places Moroccans ahead of Romanians (353,974), Colombians (316,460), Venezuelans (239,892), and Italians (223,500), underscoring the depth of the Moroccan community’s integration into the Spanish labor market.
The milestone comes as foreign worker affiliation in Spain hit a record 3.45 million by the end of June, driven in part by an exceptional regularization process launched in mid-April.
Spain’s Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, credited foreign workers, including the large Moroccan contingent, with sustaining activity in strategic sectors such as agriculture, construction, hospitality, transport, and healthcare.
