Libya’s Oil and Gas Minister Khalifa Abdul Sadiq has held discussions with Turkey’s Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the oil, gas and wider energy sectors over the week-end.
The meeting took place in Istanbul on the sidelines of the 2026 Natural Resources Summit, where both sides explored opportunities to expand investment partnerships and deepen collaboration with international energy companies.
Libya outlined its strategic priorities for the coming period, including increasing oil and gas production, expanding gas development projects, and upgrading key infrastructure such as the Greenstream pipeline, which plays a central role in gas exports to European markets.
Both ministers underscored the importance of advancing joint strategic projects aimed at reinforcing regional energy security and supporting long-term sustainable development across the Mediterranean and beyond.
