Military cooperation between Morocco and the USA has been reviewed at a meeting held Friday in Agadir between Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, and US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
The meeting, held upon the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, focused on various aspects of bilateral military cooperation, which forms part of a momentum of continuous improvement year on year, the FAR General Staff said in a statement.
The two officials praised the excellent relations between the Moroccan Royal Armed Forces and the US Armed Forces, exemplified by regular strategic dialogue and intense, ongoing cooperation activities, such as the African Lion exercise, whose 2026 edition coincides this year with the 250th anniversary of US independence.
Following the meetings, the two officials visited the Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) to get informed about the progress of training exercises and emerging technologies used during this edition of African Lion drills.
