Marrakech-Menara Airport Crowned Best Regional Airport in Africa

Marrakech-Menara Airport has received the award of the “Best Regional Airport in Africa” at the 2026 Skytrax World Airport Awards, the prestigious annual accolades often described as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”.

The Moroccan airport has won the trophy during a ceremony held Wednesday in London on the occasion of the Passenger Terminal EXPO & Conference (PTE World), a major international event for the airport industry.

The Marrakesh-Menara airport has been recognized as the best regional airport in Africa for the great travel experience it delivers to passengers. The terminal features a striking architectural blend of modern technology and traditional Moroccan design, characterized by a white concrete facade adorned with stylized Islamic geometric motifs.

In 2025, the airport handled over 10 million passengers, representing 10 pc increase compared to previous year data. It is one of the busiest airports in Africa and the second-busiest airport in Morocco, accounting for 28% of the country’s total air traffic

The Skytrax World Airport Awards assess airports across more than 550 hubs worldwide and are based entirely on global passenger voting through the world’s largest airport customer satisfaction survey. Travellers across the world rate airports on service quality and facilities.
