TRUMP TELLS POLISARIO: ACCEPT AUTONOMY PLAN BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!

The Algeria-backed Polisario separatist group has been hit with a harsh reality-check during a meeting held lately in Washington with U.S. officials who reaffirmed that Autonomy plan under Moroccan sovereignty is the ONLY offer on the table. Take it or face consequences!

According to press reports citing sources close to the Polisario, the meeting was chaired by a senior American official who made it clear that the Moroccan Autonomy plan under the Kingdom’s sovereignty is the only framework of any future negotiation in line with UN Security Council resolution 2797.

The U.S. administration delivered to the Polisario delegation a clear message: there is no back-and-forth game or procrastination tactics. The clock is ticking to close the deal before it is too late.

The Polisario leadership and Algeria have rejected openly the UNSC resolution 2797 endorsing Morocco’s Autonomy Proposal as a basis for talks to achieving a just, lasting, and mutually acceptable resolution to the Sahara dispute.

But in Washington, the Polisario delegation swallowed its frustration and tried to keep up appearances without venturing to express its opposition to the American supportive stand of the Moroccan Sahara and the Autonomy plan.

After chasing an elusive dream for over five-decades, the Polisario realized it reached the end of the road and the big lies of the Algerian regime which used the separatists as a proxy to undermine Morocco’s territorial integrity and serve its own interests and geostrategic agenda.

The Polisario has been summoned by Washington to receive constructive suggestions in response to the Autonomy Proposal adopted by the UN Security Council last October.

In its historic resolution 2797, the Council calls on the parties to the Sahara conflict (Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Polisario) to engage in discussions without preconditions, taking as basis Morocco’s Autonomy Proposal supported by the international community.

The Polisario Washington trip coincided with the historic signing of founding charter of the international “Board of Peace” in Davos by U.S. President Donald Trump, Moroccan foreign minister Bourita and representatives of several countries around the world.

The Board is committed to building a secure and prosperous future for Gaza. It also seeks peace and stability in areas affected or threatened by conflict.
