U.S. AGRO-BUSINESS MISSION TO VISIT MOROCCO IN APRIL

An American trade mission from North Dakota will visit Morocco in April 2026 to explore joint business and investment opportunities offered in agrifood sector, one of the key pillars of the Kingdom’s economy.
The announcement was made by Agriculture Commissioner of North Dakota Doug Goehring. “The purpose of the mission to Morocco is to develop and foster relationships between North Dakota agricultural companies and Moroccan companies, and to expand North Dakota exports into Morocco,” Mr. Goehring said in a press release.
“Morocco’s middle class is steadily increasing, it is a net importer of agricultural and related products and ranks 36th among U.S. agriculture export markets with a total export value of nearly $600 million”, he added.
“Top product prospects for export to Morocco include feed grains, soybeans, tree nuts, pulses, rice, live animals and genetics, poultry, beef and dairy products,” underlined the Agriculture Commissioner.
Morocco’s agribusiness is the country’s second-largest employer, providing over 161,000 direct jobs. In 2024, the sector generated $20.5 billion in revenues, a 0.8% increase despite severe drought conditions.
Morocco exports its agricultural products and fresh food to over 150 countries around the world. The country is a global leader in tomatoes, citrus, and strawberries, olives and frozen fish. Poultry remains a dominant segment, with Morocco boasting the largest livestock in Africa.
