Russia’s Lavrov surfs on anti-western rhetoric while on Africa tour

Russian foreign minister Segy Lavrov is on an African tour leading him to some of the countries that have distanced themselves from Western capitals.

Lavrov began his tour with Guinea, which together with some African nations abstained from voting in favor of a UN resolution that calls for a withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

Afterwards, he stopped in Congo Brazzaville where he criticized NATO’s role in Libya’s mayhem and Ukraine, before stopping in Ouagadougou where the military junta leader has outspokenly expressed his support for Putin.

Lavrov is also expected to visit Chad and Uganda to seek to strengthen Russia’s economic ties and political influence on the continent where the West and China are vying for critical minerals.
