Air Côte d’Ivoire signs up for two Airbus A330neo
Côte d’Ivoire’s national carrier, Air Côte d’Ivoire has placed order for two Airbus A330neo as the airline embarks on long haul flights, outside the continent.
“The delivery of these two aircraft is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2024 for the first and the 2nd quarter of 2025 for the second and will allow the company to launch its flights to Europe, the Middle East and the United States,” the airline said in a statement Wednesday.
“The State is resolutely committed to the success of this project alongside its airline. It intends to serve Paris and Beirut in 2024, London and Geneva in 2025 and New York and Washington in 2026 with a forecast of profitability four to five years after the launch of the long haul,” the statement added.
The airline plans to conquer the European market as it argues that the continent is the preferred destination in the long-haul segment with 61% of trips departing from the African continent.
The company currently runs a fleet of 10 aircrafts made of four Bombardiers, three Airbus A319 and Airbus A320.
