Air Côte d’Ivoire named AFCON Official Carrier

Côte d’Ivoire’s national carrier Air Côte d’Ivoire has been made the official carrier for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Côte d’Ivoire 2023.

The African football governing body, La Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF), in a statement said the airline has become Official Sponsor for the sport event starting on January 13.

CAF argues that Air Côte d’Ivoire will play a vital role in facilitating the transportation of teams, officials, and fans to and from the tournament venues across the West African country.

The carrier will be responsible for airlifting national teams, match officials, supporters, sports equipment, and various goods to and from the selected tournament venues. Matches will take place in Abidjan (ABV), Bouaké (BYK), Korhogo (HGO), San-Pédro (SPY), and Yamoussoukro.

CAF said it is confident that the airline is capable of providing all attendees with a seamless travel experience, given its extensive domestic network and modern fleet.

The airline, Simple Flying reports, has added three aircraft to its fleet for AFCON. The aircraft include one Airbus A320, one Embraer 145, and one Airbus A319.

The first two jets have already arrived in Côte d’Ivoire, while the third is expected to arrive on January 14, Simple Flying reports.
