Morocco receives one million more AstraZeneca doses

Morocco got one million more AstraZeneca doses bringing total Covid-19 vaccine jabs it received to 8 million, health ministry sources said.

This new batch confirms regular shipment to Morocco as it continues its national vaccine campaign, using besides AstraZeneca, the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.

Morocco is expected in the next few hours to exceed the 3 million vaccinated people threshold. The country has ordered 66 million doses, enough for 33 million people.

Morocco has extended a nigh curfew until March 2 and has banned flights with many European countries for new variants contagion fears.

New daily Covid-19 cases have dropped significantly. Total confirmed cases stood at 482,128 including 8592 deaths and 466,815 recoveries.
