CFC, CISI Sign MoU to Train Skilled Professionals in Financial Services Industry

cisiCasablanca Finance City (CFC) and Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) have signed on Monday a Memorandum of Understanding on the training of skilled professionals in financial services industry that will promote professionalism and professional standards in this industry in Morocco and throughout the region.
The MoU also heralds the launch of two new CISI test centres in Morocco, namely in Casablanca and Rabat.
Thanks to this partnership, CFC will offer a wide range of more than 50 qualifications from CISI which include certificates and diplomas in Investment Management, Corporate Finance, Private Client Investment Advice and Management, Risk in Financial Services, Investment Operations Certificate (IOC), and International Certificate in Wealth Management, Global Financial Compliance and Investment Advice Diploma.
The two sides agree that the MoU illustrates the degree of maturity and confidence attained in the CFC – CISI relationship and highlights the strategic importance of their partnership. It also offers new prospects for distinctive relationship between the two parties.
The CEO of CFC, Said Ibrahimi, welcomed the signing of “a partnership with one of the largest and most widely respected professional bodies for those who work in global financial services.”
This partnership will help build the CFC position “as a regional talent pool and a premier financial training and testing hub to increase the financial services expertise across the North, West and Central African markets,” he said.
“Through this collaboration with CISI, we will be able to address the growing need in Casablanca Finance City for globally qualified professionals in various areas of the financial services industry including investment management, corporate finance, compliance, risk management and operations,” Ibrahimi said.
Echoing him, CEO of CISI, Simon Culhane, hailed this partnership that will, he said, “enhance and promote professionalism and professional standards in the financial services industry throughout Casablanca Finance City and the region of Great North and West Africa.”
“We believe in the potential of CFC as a hub to boost financial professionalism throughout francophone Africa and beyond,” he said.
CFC is a financial center that seeks to make of Casablanca a regional hub for financial institutions, multinational corporations and professional services and aims to become a financial gateway to the rest of the continent and in particular to North, West and Central Africa.
The CISI is the largest professional body for those who work in the securities and investment industry in the UK and in a growing number of major financial centres around the world. Every year, the center sets over 40,000 examinations in more than 50, covering a range of vocational qualifications. The CISI qualified candidates are employed by 92% of the world’s top banks.
