Rallye du Maroc: Giniel de Villiers clinches fourth victory
South African racing driver Giniel de Villiers won Wednesday a new victory at Rallye du Maroc, his fourth in the competition.
The Toyota Gazoo Racing Hiluxes driver also won Ifrane round of the competition which also came to an end on Wednesday.
Giniel de Villiers snatched the victory after Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah missed the fourth round due to cruel engine issues.
Attiyah was on his way to claim his 5th victory and the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies title.
The South African beat Spanish Carlos Sainz 17min 42sec margin. Frenchman Mathieu Serradori came third.
Two times FIA Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso, who was taking part in his first FIA cross-country challenge, finished in 27th position with five-time Dakar winner Marc Coma acting as his co-driver.
