Moroccan Airports Post 17.6% Rise in Passenger Traffic in March

Moroccan airports registered 1.85 million passengers in March, up 17.69% compared to the same period last year, Morocco’s airport authority (ONDA) said.

The most significant increase was registered in passengers heading to South America, posting a 50.56 percent rise, followed by North America with 28%, ONDA said in a statement.

Casablanca airport accounted 40% of global air traffic, up 10.23%, ONDA said.

The number of passengers passing through the airports of the tourist hubs of Agadir and Marrakech increased by 34.47 percent and 25.76 percent, respectively.

In 2017, the air traffic in Morocco grew 11.63 percent from 2016 to reach a record of over 20.35 million.
