Mohammed VI Emergency Medicine Training Center Inaugurated in Abidjan

King Mohammed VI who is carrying on his friendship and work visit to Côte d’Ivoire inaugurated on Wednesday the Mohammed VI Emergency Medicine Training Center in Abidjan.

The center, the first of its kind in the West African country, is part of the Yopougon University Hospital.

The new facility provides practical training in emergency medicine for the benefit of emergency physicians, first aid workers and health auxiliaries. It is fitted with modern, state-of-the-art equipment financed by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development.
The center can train up to 75 emergency physicians, and 120 first aid workers and health auxiliaries a year. It will be managed in partnership between the Marrakech Mohammed VI University Hospital and the Ivorian ministry of health.

Part of this strong Moroccan-Ivorian partnership that stands out as a model for South-South cooperation, King Mohammed VI also visited the construction site of a vocational training complex that he had launched during a visit to Côte d’Ivoire in June 2015.

The complex, halfway of completion, will offer training to 1,000 trainees in construction & building, civil engineering and tourism. It will thus provide these sectors with qualified human resources; and upgrade youths’ employment.

These projects actually reflect Morocco’s resolve to support the large-scale socio-economic development projects underway in Côte d’Ivoire, and its commitment to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation and share the expertise it has acquired in wealth and job generating sectors.
