Tunisia: 82nd business-friendly country, Forbes Magazine

Forbes Magazine’s 2015 ranking of business-friendly countries revealed Thursday puts Tunisia at the 82th position highlighting a progress in terms of personal freedom to under-take.
Ranked 87th last year, Tunisia bounced back with few spots to reach the 82nd position over 144 countries, mainly for the little progress on personal freedom criterion.
The Magazine estimates Tunisia’s inflation rate at 4.9 per cent and public debt estimates at 51% of the GDP and an unemployment rate reaching 14.9 per cent of the population.
The Magazine also adds that Tunisia rates 132nd in terms of trade freedom and 89th for monetary freedom. Tunisia takes the 110th position for the innovation in the world and 80th place for technology.
Business investors are not protected says the magazine which puts Tunisia at the 92nd position with corruption taking heaving toll on investors. Tunisia is the 77th most corrupt country in world according to the magazine which also classifies the Tunisian market performance among the 50 top well performing markets.
Tunisia ranks far behind Morocco which according to the magazine has made huge progress in terms of trade freedom and monetary freedom. Morocco is 62nd.
In the Maghreb region, Tunisia outclasses Algeria (137th), troubled Libya (142th) and around world Brazil (90th), china (94th).
Denmark, New Zealand, Norway respectively first, second and third are leading the global ranking which classifies Libya, Guinea and Chad as the worst countries for business.
