Rubicon Water Company has been selected for $ a 12million irrigation modernization project in Morocco’s Tadla region. The Australian company has been chosen by the Office Régional de Mise en Valeur Agricole du Tadla (ORMVAT) for its advanced technology solutions.
The Rubicon will modernize the main canals of the 69,600-hectare Béni Moussa irrigation perimeter in the Tadla agricultural region, which includes around 27,000ha already converted or being converted from traditional gravity irrigation to pressurized drip irrigation.
Rubicon’s technology is designed to improve the stability, accuracy, and responsiveness of water delivery through the main canal network, supporting those irrigation investments and the broader transition to pressurized irrigation.
Its scope will include Total Channel Control technology, automated canal regulation gates, communications infrastructure, and the NeuroFlo software platform, providing real-time monitoring and autonomous control of canal flows and water levels.
“We are delighted that the joint venture bid incorporating Rubicon’s technology has been selected for this landmark project in Morocco,” chief executive officer Bruce Rodgerson said.
Rubicon is already working on further opportunities across the region as it seeks to use a commissioned Tadla project as a reference for applying its technology to the modernization of large-scale gravity-fed irrigation networks
The Australian water technology company designs, manufactures, installs, and maintains hardware and software to automate gravity-fed irrigation distribution networks and on-farm systems.
