Morocco has been ranked the top African country and placed among the world’s 20 best performers in the Global Public Security Index Report (2025-2026), according to findings released by the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum.
The report, published on the sidelines of the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum conference in Lianyungang, China, evaluates public security conditions across 62 countries.
Morocco got an overall score of 76.15 points, making it the only African nation to appear among the 20 countries whose strongest results were publicly highlighted.
The index assesses four main dimensions: public order and security, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and road safety.
It draws on open-source data combined with public opinion surveys involving nearly 65,000 respondents.
Morocco recorded its strongest performance in counterterrorism with 87.45 points, reflecting the effectiveness of its proactive strategy of prevention, deradicalization, and threat neutralization.
The ranking underscores Morocco’s institutional resilience and structured security governance at a time of heightened global challenges ranging from terrorism to cyber risks.
Analysts note that the result consolidates the Kingdom’s position as a pole of stability on a continent facing significant security disparities and cross-border threats.
