Türkiye has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting peace efforts, humanitarian assistance and post-conflict reconstruction in Sudan following talks between the two countries’ Foreign Ministers Hakan Fidan and Mohieddin Salem in Ankara on Tuesday, July 28.
Fidan said Türkiye would continue to back efforts to end the conflict, meet the humanitarian needs of the Sudanese people and provide development assistance during Sudan’s reconstruction, while maintaining its support for the country’s independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
The two ministers also reviewed bilateral political, economic and trade relations, and exchanged views on regional developments, particularly in the Horn of Africa, as well as global security issues.
During the visit, Türkiye and Sudan signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the Turkish Foreign Ministry’s Diplomacy Academy and Sudan’s Diplomatic Institute.
