Moroccan minister of foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita was received Tuesday in Accra by President of Ghana John Dramani Mahama on the sidelines of the 2nd meeting of the Morocco-Ghana Joint Cooperation Committee held in this West African country.
On this occasion, the Ghanaian President conveyed his fraternal greetings to King Mohammed VI and praised the momentum driving bilateral cooperation since the royal visit paid to Ghana in 2017.
The Moroccan-Ghanian Cooperation Committee, held in Accra under the co-chairmanship of the two countries’ foreign ministers, commended royal initiatives launched for Africa’s development, shared growth, prosperity, stability and peace.
The Joint Committee cited in this regard the African Atlantic States Process initiative, the Royal Sahel initiative and the Atlantic African Gas Pipeline project. These initiatives, pioneered by Morocco alongside regional partners like Nigeria and ECOWAS, aim to transform West Africa and the Sahel into an integrated, secure, and economically prosperous corridor.
