Morocco Starts Building Major International Media Hub for FIFA World Cup 2030

Morocco, co-host of the FIFA World Cup 2030 along with Spain & Portugal, has launched the construction works of the International Broadcasting Center (IBC) in Casablanca for the upcoming global football tournament.

The International press center will be built over 66,000 m2 area at the site of the former International Fair of Casablanca (near the Hassan II Mosque). It will be official media headquarters and television broadcasting hub for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. It is designed to process all video and audio feeds from the stadiums and distributes them to billions of viewers worldwide.

The media village will be equipped with high-tech infrastructure including required heavy-duty internet and telecommunications, like fiber-optic cables, to send live match signals globally without interruptions.

The FIFA IBC serves as the central nerve platform for global media, routing and broadcasting live feeds from all stadium venues across the host countries to billions of fans.

According to FIFA regulations, the host country is required to provide a centralized, secure facility to act as the television and radio hub, while the broadcasting rights are FIFA’s largest source of revenue. The IBC ensures that multibillion-dollar broadcast partners (like FOX, BBC, and BeIN Sports) have the technical infrastructure to transmit games live.

FIFA uses the IBC to collect raw feeds from every stadium, package them with graphics and slow-motion replays, and distribute a single, high-quality “host broadcast” feed globally.
