Libya Central Bank reviews monetary strategy amid years of institutional division

The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, on Thursday, July 9, met with the Chairman and members of a follow-up Committee established by the High Council of State to review the bank’s strategy and performance in recent years.

The meeting examined the central Bank’s operations, monetary policy measures and the challenges it faced amid Libya’s political and institutional divisions.

According to the Bank, discussions also focused on the effectiveness of monetary policies implemented during the period and the level of coordination between the Bank and other Government institutions responsible for fiscal and trade policies.

The Committee was presented with a detailed report outlining the Bank’s activities, achievements and challenges during the period under review.
