King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to world-class Moroccan mountaineer Nawal Sfendla for successfully climbing the adjacent peaks of Everest and Lhotse in a single push.

“I have learned with immense pride of your remarkable sporting achievement in successfully climbing the adjacent peaks of Everest and Lhotse, a first for a Moroccan woman to scale these two world-renowned summits in a single push,” the Sovereign wrote.

In his message, the King congratulates the mountaineer for achieving this world-class feat and flying the national flag high, the result of her sustained efforts and strong will, thereby confirming the competence and skill of Moroccan women to rise to challenges in various fields, as well as the ambition and determination of Moroccan youth to achieve further feats in continental and international sporting competitions.

The Monarch reiterated congratulations to the Moroccan mountaineer on this remarkable sporting exploit, which, he said, adds to her previous accomplishments in successfully climbing the world’s highest peaks in Europe, America, and Asia—a testament to her willpower, patience, and determination.

The King prayed the Almighty to grant the Moroccan mountaineer every success and further recognitions and feats in her sporting career, while assuring her of his high solicitude and his high care.
