Morocco’s investment agency hits 90% of 2025 targets by midyear

Morocco’s investment and export agency AMDIE said it had reached more than 90% of its annual targets by mid2025, driven by a sharper focus on strategic sectors and more direct engagement with global investors.
Presenting its firsthalf results during its 11th board meeting chaired by the minister in charge of investment, the agency said it had shifted from a broad promotional approach to targeting industries where Morocco aims to strengthen its competitive advantage.
These include automotive, energy, mining and infrastructure.
AMDIE carried out 55 promotional actions across 17 markets in the first six months of the year, as Morocco seeks to secure a stronger position in reconfigured global supply chains and attract companies seeking stable industrial bases.
The agency said two meetings of the National Investment Commission approved 64 investment deals and amendments, worth 55.1 billion dirhams, with 13,000 expected direct jobs.
Since the launch of Morocco’s new investment charter, 250 public and private projects have been approved, representing 414 billion dirhams in commitments.
AMDIE reported increased interest from foreign delegations, hosting 56 visits from 19 countries, mainly focused on energy, mining, automotive and infrastructure. The agency said investors were drawn to Morocco’s skilled labour force, industrial stability and infrastructure network.
Export support programs also expanded. Through Export Morocco Now and Export Morocco Now Women, AMDIE backed 182 companies and cooperatives, aiming to widen the base of exporters and help SMEs secure sustainable access to foreign markets.
The agency stepped up engagement with the Moroccan diaspora, organizing six economic events in France, the Netherlands and Belgium. It said the outreach is designed to turn expatriate expertise and networks into investment opportunities. Diaspora professionals also took part in Morocco Now conferences during international roadshows.
