MOROCCO & PAKISTAN AGREE ON DEFENSE COOPERTION ROADMAP

Morocco and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen their military cooperation, mainly in training, joint drills, cyber-security, defense industry and military health.

The two countries also agreed on the exchange of experience & expertise and other fields of mutual interest under a MoU sealed Tuesday in Rabat during the visit Pakistan’s Defense minister Muhammad Asif Khawaja is paying to Morocco.

Accompanied by a high-level delegation, the Pakistani minister was received by Morocco’s minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi in presence of Lt. General Mohamed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone.

During the meeting, the two officials stressed the importance of partnership between the two countries and discussed ways of fostering military cooperation focusing on areas of mutual interest.

Morocco-Pakistan partnership reinforces South-South cooperation and regional integration for global peace and stability. Morocco is diversifying its international partners in developing its own defense industrial ecosystem which is expanding.

Morocco’s Private-Public Partnership (PPP) formula is attracting a growing number of military contractors and investors from U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia.
