Chinese tire manufacturer Guizhou Tyre has approved plans to build a new production facility in the Cité Mohammed VI, Tanger Tech industrial zone, confirming an investment close to 300 million dollars.
The company’s board of directors validated the project on January 5, giving the green light for the construction of an intelligent tire plant with an annual output capacity of six million tires.
According to the company, the unit will produce semi steel tires under its Advance and Samson brands.
The total investment amounts to 298.72 million dollars, including 293.02 million dollars earmarked for construction, 4.53 million dollars in interim interest, and 1.17 million dollars for initial working capital.
The project will be financed through a mix of internal resources and external funding mobilized by the group.
Construction is expected to take two years, marking a significant step in Guizhou Tyre’s expansion strategy and reinforcing Morocco’s position as an emerging hub for automotive and industrial manufacturing.
