MOROCCO DEPLOYS «IRON DOME OF DESERT», SENDING STRONG MESSAGE TO ENEMIES

Morocco is locking its airspace with the most advanced military technology in the region, the “Barak MX” air defense system, sending a strong message to the Kingdom’s enemies.

According to press reports, Morocco’s acquisition of a top-tier interceptor system comes after the transfer of asymmetric terror tactics and drone technology to the Algeria-backed separatist groups like the Polisario Front.

The activation of this Israeli-made system, which represents a quantum leap in regional security, means that the skies over the Moroccan Sahara are no longer a permissive environment for proxy terror.

The Barak MX is a modular air defense system capable of intercepting missiles and drones at ranges of up to 150 kilometers. Its deployment is a response to Russian S-300s and Sukhoi aircraft acquired by the Algerian military regime to flex its muscles across the border.

It provides Morocco with a multi-layered shield capable of countering threats that external actors are introducing to the region, specifically the “loitering munitions and ballistic missiles that have become the hallmark of modern proxy warfare,” said “Times of Israel”.

Morocco is no longer just a client of Israeli technology; it is a producer, said the newspaper, citing in this regard the BlueBird Aero Systems drone factory in Benslimane, the first Israeli defense manufacturing plant in North Africa.

While Algeria continues to import weapons from Moscow, draining its foreign reserves, Rabat is building sovereign defense industry integrating Moroccan engineers and technicians into the Israeli supply chain, said the daily. This alliance has evolved into a strategic axis that binds the security of the Mediterranean to the security of the Middle East as the “Barak MX” system is also protecting the Strait of Gibraltar.

The North African Kingdom is an ally that integrates Western military technology and serves as a net security provider, while Algeria hosts hostile proxies, said the newspaper, urging American policymakers to support the Moroccan success as a blueprint for the continent.
