FAR Deploy Three Military Field Hospitals in Azilal, Al Haouz, Midelt

On the high instructions of King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the FAR deployed three military field hospitals in the municipalities of Ait M’hamed in the province of Azilal, Ouirgane in the province of Al Haouz, and Tounfite in the province of Midelt.
This initiative forms part of the high solicitude that the Monarch has continuously shown towards rural populations, particularly those living in mountainous areas facing difficult weather conditions and a significant drop in temperatures at this time of year, the FAR General Staff said in a statement.

In this context, the Royal Armed Forces mobilized all the human and logistical resources necessary to ensure a rapid and effective response, thereby meeting the health needs of citizens in these regions.
Following the cold wave that hit Morocco this winter, significant resources have been mobilized to assist the populations affected and the vulnerable groups.

The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity launched a large-scale emergency operation to assist thousands of families affected by severe winter conditions.

The “Grand Froid” operation aims to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to vulnerable communities hit by freezing temperatures, heavy rain and snow across 28 most affected provinces.

About 73,000 households will receive food supplies and blankets, the Foundation said in a statement.
Significant logistical and human resources have been mobilized in coordination with the Interior Ministry, local authorities, the Royal Armed Forces and the Royal Gendarmerie to reach remote villages and high-altitude areas.
Teams include social workers, doctors and military personnel tasked with ensuring access to isolated communities.
Authorities are also working to maintain road and communication links and guarantee rapid assistance for people in critical situations.
Citizens in affected areas have been urged to exercise caution, avoid risky travel and follow safety guidelines as heavy snowfall and rainfall continue to disrupt parts of the country.

In parallel, the Interior Ministry has activated its national winter emergency plan to mitigate the impact of severe weather during the 2025-2026 season. Regional governors have been instructed to strengthen monitoring systems, coordinate interventions and take preventive measures to protect lives and property.
The plan includes the deployment of provincial crisis committees, continuous field assessments, and pre-positioning of supplies such as food, heating materials and fodder for livestock.
