Brazil’s fertilizer imports from Morocco rise in 2025

Brazil increased its fertilizer imports from Morocco in 2025, with phosphate-based shipments rising 30.19 percent year on year to $559.18 million between January and October, according to data compiled by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and relayed by the Ministry of Trade.

Total Brazilian imports from Morocco reached $1.31 billion in the first ten months of the year, up 3.6 percent, driven mainly by phosphate and compound fertilizers. The expansion pushed Brazilian purchases from Morocco above Brazil exports to the kingdom during the same period.

Brazilian exports to Morocco fell 5 percent to about $1 billion. Sugar, corn and livestock remained the main outbound products, though sugar sales dropped 35.2 percent to $462.4 million.

Overall bilateral trade stood at about $2.3 billion, remaining broadly stable compared with 2024 despite weaker Brazilian exports.
