CAF Women’s Champions League: King Mohammed VI congratulates AS FAR, Crowned Champions for Second Time

King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to the members of the AS FAR women’s football club following their triumph in the 2025 Women’s Champions League of the Confederation of African Football.

In this message, The King expressed his warm congratulations to all members of the FAR women’s football club for having won the fifth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, organized by Egypt.

The Sovereign also expressed his high esteem and pride following this continental title, the second of its kind for the AS FAR women’s team, which adds to the record of honorable achievements of Moroccan football at the continental and international levels. He saluted the efforts of all those who contributed to this title, notably the players, coaches, technical and medical staff, and administrative officials.

The Monarch also reiterated to the members of the AS FAR women’s team and all its components his warm congratulations, imploring the Almighty to grant them full success in their football careers so that they may win further distinctions and titles and strengthen the distinguished standing of Moroccan women’s football at the regional, continental, and international levels, while assuring them of his high solicitude and benevolence.

AS FAR won the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League for the second time in their history, after defeating the Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas 2–1 in the final played on Friday evening at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia.

Both goals for the AS FAR women’s team came from penalties, converted by Hanane Ait El Haj (13th minute) and Zineb Redouani (85th minute), while ASEC Mimosas managed to reduce the deficit with a goal from Ami Diallo in the 55th minute.

This is the Moroccan team’s second continental title, after winning the African Champions League in 2022 by beating South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns. AS FAR had lost the previous edition’s (2024) final by a single goal to TP Mazembe in a match held at El Abdi Stadium in El Jadida, Morocco.

In the third-place match, the Congolese team TP Mazembe defeated the Egyptian side Masar 3–1 on Friday evening, securing the tournament’s bronze medal.
