Precious Metals: New gold discovery in Morocco
Canadian mining Company Aya Gold & Silver has announced the discovery of a new gold site at Asirem Zone, west of the Boumadine Main Trend in Morocco, highlighting the zone’s emergence as a promising new target.
“The discovery and new gold zone at Asirem, west of Boumadine’s Main Trend confirms that Boumadine is evolving into a true district-scale asset with multiple mineralized trends,” said Mr. Benoit La Salle, Aya’s CEO.
“Drilling has traced gold over eight kilometers of strike at Asirem, with geophysics pointing to more than ten kilometers of potential. Along with grab samples grading up to 12.2 g/t gold and 4.1% copper, this new corridor highlights promising exploration opportunities”, he added in a press release.
Emboldened by these results, Aya expanded its footprint with the acquisition of two new mining licenses. Listed on the TSX, the Canadian Corporation operates the Zgounder Silver Mine, an underground silver mine located 260km east of Agadir.
In addition to advancing its Boumadine polymetallic project, Aya has a number of exploration properties located along the prolific Anti-Atlas belt that is host to Zgounder and Managem’s Imiter Mine.
