A detachment the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) took part in the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the independence of the Union of the Comoros, following an invitation extended to Morocco.

The FAR detachment participated in the celebration at the instructions of the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR. A platoon from the 2nd Parachute Infantry Brigade thus took part in the military parade commemorating the Independence Day in the capital Moroni on Sunday, alongside the Comorian Armed Forces, the FAR General Staff said in a press release.

The FAR’s participation in these festivities testifies to the strong and excellent relations of friendship and fraternity that bind the two countries, particularly in the military area.

The Kingdom, as part of its policy of solidarity with African countries, participates in supporting them, but also wishes to share their joy on the occasion of significant commemorations, the press release said.
