Akdital expands healthcare network in Laâyoune following regulatory approval

Akdital Group, Morocco’s leading private healthcare provider, has finalized the acquisition of two major medical facilities in Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region after receiving approval from the Competition Council. The strategic expansion includes the International Polyclinic of Laâyoune and Al Hikma Medical Center, marking Akdital’s entry into the eleventh region of its nationwide network.

This significant development reinforces the group’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility across Morocco, particularly in regions with previously limited medical infrastructure. The acquisition represents a pivotal moment in Akdital’s growth strategy and addresses the increasing demand for quality healthcare services in this strategic southern territory.

Al Hikma Medical Center, now fully under Akdital’s management, offers 76 beds and comprehensive multidisciplinary services including specialized consultations, laboratory analyses, radiological examinations, and surgical interventions across various medical disciplines. The facility is positioned to become a key provider of quality healthcare for the local population.

Meanwhile, the International Polyclinic of Laâyoune is scheduled to open on May 2, 2025, with an impressive 240-bed capacity. This state-of-the-art hospital will provide round-the-clock services across major specialties including cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedic surgery, gynecology-obstetrics, sports medicine, and internal medicine.

Through these acquisitions, Akdital demonstrates its support for Morocco’s implementation of Mandatory Health Insurance (AMO) while playing a fundamental role in improving healthcare access and quality. The expansion reflects Akdital’s dedication to meeting the growing healthcare needs throughout the Kingdom, establishing new standards for medical excellence in previously underserved regions.
