Subsidiary of Moroccan BCP, Atlantic Bank, donates two modern classrooms to school in Burkina Faso
In a significant contribution to educational infrastructure, Atlantic Bank, a subsidiary of the Moroccan Central Popular Bank (BCP) Group, has provided two new classrooms to the Poun Nord public school in Burkina Faso’s Didyr district.
The donation comes as part of Atlantic Bank’s ongoing commitment to education and social development in Burkina Faso. The bank initiated this project through a strategic partnership established in December 2023 with the Eau Vive association, aimed at enhancing rural school facilities and promoting quality education access for local communities.
Sonia Kam, representing Atlantic Bank’s Director General Yongo Nignan, who also serves as president of the Eau Vive association, attended the ceremony. The event highlighted strong community support and emphasized the initiative’s importance for youth education and regional development.
Built to modern, sustainable standards, the new classrooms address growing educational demands in the area. They will help reduce overcrowding in existing facilities while providing a more suitable and secure learning environment. This investment seeks to ensure more equitable access to quality education while significantly improving teaching conditions.
“Education is the key to any change. It paves the way for a better future for our children and for society,” Kam stated during the handover ceremony that took place earlier this month. “Atlantic Bank is proud to support this project and contribute to building a more just and inclusive society by collaborating with committed local partners like Eau Vive,” she added.
Through this initiative, Atlantic Bank reaffirms its commitment to social development in Burkina Faso, aligning with the BCP Group’s vision that integrates corporate social responsibility as a key strategic priority.
