Morocco & U.S. to step up cooperation ties in AI & digitalization

Moroccan Minister of digital transition and administration reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni has conferred in Washington with American officials on cooperation prospects in digital transformation and artificial intelligence on the sidelines of Global Digital Summit taking place at the World Bank Headquarters (March 17-20).

On Monday, the minister was received at the State Department by Leila Elmergawi, Director for Strategy and Global AI Policy. During the meeting, held in the presence of Moroccan Ambassador to the U.S. Youssef Amrani, talks focused on Morocco’s ambitious AI roadmap and the Digital Morocco 2030 plan seeking to turn digital technology a real driver of social and economic development.

Both parties have reaffirmed shared commitment to advancing AI development and digital transformation for a prosperous future taking full advantage of the ongoing digital revolution.

The Moroccan Minister also met Ambassador Steve Lang, Chief of Cyberspace and Digital Policy. They stressed the need to enhance cooperation in the field of digital transformation and AI to strengthen Morocco’s socioeconomic growth and foster the Kingdom’s regional competitiveness.
