Zambian President sends written message to King Mohammed VI

President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia has sent a written message to King Mohammed VI, as part of the drive to strengthen the solid ties between the two countries.

The message was handed over to Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita by special envoy of the Zambian President, Caleb Fundanga, at a meeting in Rabat Monday.

In a statement to the press following this meeting, member of the Zambian delegation, Samuel Munzele Maimbo, underlined that the president’s message to King Mohammed VI is part of the drive to strengthen the solid ties between the two countries.

This meeting with Bourita provided an opportunity to convey the Zambian President’s profound thanks to the Monarch for his efforts to strengthen bilateral ties, Maimbo said, adding that the two countries are constantly exchanging on the best means to upgrade partnership between Rabat and Lusaka.

Member of the Zambian delegation, Samuel Munzele Maimbo, is one of the candidates vying to lead the African development Bank (AfDB) as Akinwumi Adesina’s term as AfDB president comes to an end.

AfDB’s new president will be chosen on May 29 at a meeting of the Bank’s board of governors. The board is made up of representatives of the 54 African countries plus the 27 non-African countries that are shareholders in the Bank.
