Morocco reaffirms support for Syrian sovereignty
Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita has reaffirmed Morocco’s unwavering commitment to Syria’s unity and sovereignty.
This came during a meeting Bourita held with his Syrian counterpart, Assaad Hassan al-Chaibani, on the sidelines of the Arab and Gulf ministerial meetings, convened on Thursday, March 6, in Mecca.
This position is in line with the principles upheld by Morocco regarding the respect for the territorial integrity of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.
The meeting took place in a context marked by an increase in diplomatic exchanges within the Arab world, as several states work to strengthen regional stability.
The Mecca meetings bring together the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the Arab League at a time when the region’s security and political challenges call for in-depth consultations between Arab capitals.
