World Cup 2030 host countries to create joint committees to unify efforts
Joint committees will be implemented to unify the efforts of the three countries organizing the 2030 FIFA World Cup, namely Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced.
The creation of these committees was agreed upon during a meeting between FRMF President, Fouzi Lekjaa, and Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) President Rafael Louzán, held at the FRMF headquarters in Salé, the Federation announced in a press release on its website.
“The two parties agreed to form joint committees to unify the efforts of the three countries – Morocco, Spain, and Portugal – through meetings that will take place in the coming days, alternately in the World Cup 2030 host nations,” the FRMF said.
Lekjaa emphasized the significance of the visit made by the RFEF President to Morocco following his recent election as head of the Spanish football governing institution, to review the preparations for the joint organization of the 2030 World Cup.
He highlighted the historical and cultural ties between Morocco and Spain and stressed the importance of speeding up the establishment of the joint committees between the three World Cup host countries to ensure a successful organization, following the resounding success of the bid.
He also underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between Morocco and Spain in all areas of football, mirroring the strong relations between the two kingdoms in other sectors.
For his part, Louzán expressed his admiration for Morocco’s progress, particularly in promoting football at all levels, especially regarding infrastructure.
He noted that this progress paves the way for fruitful bilateral cooperation, in line with the expectations of supporters and officials from both countries for the next five years, which will also see special celebrations of Spanish football achievements during this century.
The RFEF President shared Lekjaa’s vision regarding the necessity of creating joint committees to accelerate the implementation of future projects ahead of 2030.
