Gambia’s President addresses message to King Mohammed VI
Gambia’s President, Adama Barrow, has addressed a written message to King Mohammed VI.
The message was handed over by Gambian Foreign Minister Mamadou Tangara to his Moroccan peer Nasser Bourita at a meeting held this Wednesday in Rabat.
Mamadou Tangara expressed in a statement to the press following the meeting his country’s gratitude and thanks to King Mohammed VI for all the support Morocco has extended to the Gambia, which holds the current chairmanship of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), following the success of the OIC summit hosted by his country last year.
The King, as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, has a “crucial role to play in the Organization’s success,” he said. Tangara also took this opportunity to praise the actions undertaken by King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful.
As to his talks with Bourita, he said they covered bilateral relations and provided opportunity to exchange views on the situation in the sub-region, with a view to agreeing on common positions with respect to Africa.
