Sahara: Saint-Lucia & Dominica reiterate support for Morocco’s territorial integrity & autonomy plan
Saint-Lucia and Dominica have reiterated firm support for Morocco’s full sovereignty over its entire Saharan territory and voiced strong backing to the Moroccan Autonomy plan offering “credible, serious and realistic solution” to the Sahara regional conflict.
The supportive stand of these two Caribbean countries was voiced by their Prime ministers during separate talks held Thursday in Rabat with Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita.
Speaking to journalists following their meetings with Morocco’s top diplomat, the PM of Saint-Lucia Philip Joseph Pierre hailed the excellent friendship and cooperation ties between the two countries and expressed hope to see partnership enhanced further in sectors of mutual interests.
Talks between the two parties focused on bilateral relations and latest developments on the regional and international scene.
For his part, the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica Roosevelt Skerrit lauded the growing international support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara, and hailed the South-South cooperation advocated by King Mohammed VI for shared progress and prosperity.
He discussed with Bourita ways of strengthening cooperation in various sectors as well as political and economic issues of common interest.
