Morocco launches African Academy of Health Sciences in Sahara

Morocco has launched the African Academy for Health Sciences in Dakhla in its southern provinces to promote research and training in the continent.

The announcement was made at the Mohammed VI University for science and health in Dakhla, a city that is poised to become not only a gateway to the African market, but also a hub for scientific research.

The new academy adheres to a south-south cooperation approach that aims at bringing together African experts to join efforts with a view to responding to Africa’s health research challenges.

The academy has close ties with international centers and organizations including the World Health Organization as well as the pharmaceutical industry.
