Morocco: Tanger-Med Police foil psychotropic trafficking
Moroccan security services foiled on Saturday morning at Tanger-Med Port an international drugs and psychotropic substances trafficking attempt, seizing 155,703 Ecstasy tablets concealed in an international transport truck coming from a European country, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN) said in a press release.
According to initial findings of the investigation, border control and search operations, conducted with the police dog squad, uncovered this cargo, carefully concealed in specially designed holes in the vehicle’s cabin, the DGSN said. The truck driver and his assistant, both Moroccan nationals, aged 41 and 44, were arrested and taken into custody.
This operation is part of the intensive efforts undertaken by security services to combat international drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
