Egypt’s Labor minister assures UAE of skilled workforce
Egyptian Minister of Labor Mohamed Jabri met with Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, the UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, during the 10th BRICS Ministerial Meeting in Sochi, Russia.
According to a press release from Tuesday September 10, the two officials discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation in the labor sector, focusing on vocational training, job opportunities, and the exchange of expertise on labor laws.
Jabri highlighted Egypt’s efforts to advance its vocational training system in partnership with private sector developers. He also expressed the ministry’s readiness to supply skilled labor to the UAE and to work directly with UAE employers to match labor supply with market demands. Additionally, he emphasized the role of the ministry’s “Pre-Departure Orientation Unit” in preparing Egyptian youth for employment abroad by informing them about their rights, duties, and the labor laws of their destination countries.
Dr. Al Awar praised the strong historical relations between Egypt and the UAE, noting Egypt’s respect and appreciation within the UAE. He expressed a desire to further strengthen collaboration in areas of mutual interest and highlighted the UAE’s growing labor market, particularly in sectors requiring skilled labor. He also discussed the social security and insurance benefits available to expatriate workers in the UAE.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Al Awar invited Minister Jabri to the World Government Summit in February 2025, which will feature a special focus on the labor market.
