Moroccan football federation, private sector firms partner to promote younger footballers’ training
The Moroccan football federation (FRMF), Moroccan fertilizer giant OCP, Taqa Morocco, and other private firms partnered to set up a Fund that would be tasked with training younger footballers.
The partnership also involves 11 football clubs who agreed to offer their stadiums and infrastructure to the new Fund.
These clubs will also delegate training to the newly created body. The clubs are Raja, WAC, MAS, MAT, FAR, DHJ, FUS, RS Berkane, Nahda de Zmamra, Olympic Safi, and Olympic Khouribga.
The fund will also invest in infrastructure across the Kingdom and ensure young players receive world-class training and education, FRMF said.
Morocco’s football training model was highlighted following the impressive run of the Atlas Lions in Qatar’s World Cup, in which they finished fourth.
The Bronze medal of Morocco’s football team in the Paris Olympics also showed that Morocco’s rise as a global powerhouse is no coincidence and rather a fruit of well-crafted strategy.
