Morocco donates 9 high-voltage generators to Niger, confirming its African solidarity

Morocco has donated Niger nine high voltage generators to support the West African country efforts to improve electricity access and services to homes and businesses for better economic growth and development.

According to press reports, the 22.5 megawatt generators were received by Niger’s Energy minister, Pr. Amadou Haoua. The Moroccan donation, which reflects the strong friendship existing between the two countries, will support energy stability of the Sub-Saharan country.

Niger is one of the Sahel countries which adhered to the Royal initiative offering Atlantic access to the African landlocked countries. This strategic project is expected to strengthen regional development, connectivity and trading for shared prosperity in the Sahel region.

Morocco’s African policy is based on South-South cooperation and solidarity, seeking inclusive regional socioeconomic development, food security, climate change resilience, capacity building, technology transfer, security, and regional peace and stability
